Overview

I was informed there was a design competition with Service Core to create new icons for their Values on their website. I jumped on this opportunity to have some fun being creative with my own interpretation of what designs could best represent their values for their company that creates software for porta-potty rentals and septic systems.

Process

I started by getting very familiar with their website, their services, and their mission and values. I was thoughtful about the style of their website as well to ensure that I was matching their current branding guidelines. I sketched out some icons that I believed could represent their values well. After sketching the icons out I brought them into Adobe Illustrator and digitized them.

Insights

This was a great challenge to be given a prompt without much guidance besides create new icons for our values. Their design team did have a chance to view what I had created, and we were in talks to have me meet and have my icons fine tuned for exactly what they were looking for. Unfortunately, this time around the team hired on a full time designer. Although I didn't get the project, I was really happy I went through this whole process. It gave me the experience to move forward and put together proposals for future projects and companies.
